Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman, Distinguished Professor of psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is at University of California Davis. It is widely believed that she was the one who beginning the current investigation of the scientific study of children's eyeswitness memories and the role of child victims as witnesses in legal settings. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer as well as received numerous grants. She has also received various international and national distinctions. She has collaborated with a variety of organisations and governments all over the world to conduct research and policies relating to children who have been victims of the legal system. She acts as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She has been a member of a variety of professional organizations, including The Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions of Experimental Psychology, Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Praxis and Policy American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) She also is a founding part of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development, and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was President of three divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice Division, American Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
